Ministry of Economic Development Funding Initiative - China EEE MRA

Update 24 August 2010. The closing date for expressions of Interest from Certification Bodies in respect of the China EEE MRA funding initiative has been extended. The closing date is now 21 September 2010.

The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) has made available funding to support a New Zealand based certification body in gaining accreditation as part of the full implementation of the Agreement between the Government of New Zealand and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on Cooperation in the field of Conformity Assessment in Relation to Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Components (EEE MRA).

The funding is available to the first certification body applicant that meets the set criteria.  The grant will be a reimbursement of accreditation costs associated with the application and programme fees for the first year and the assessment costs for the second year up to the value of NZ$15,000.00 over the next two years.

Completed expressions of interest (and supporting material) must be submitted by eligible certification bodies to JAS-ANZ by 5pm on 21 September 2010. All expressions of interest will be assessed against the funding criteria.

Expressions of Interest will be reviewed and the successful recipient of the funding grant will be advised by MED.
